My girlfriend and I have been dating for close to 10 years. We're in Oregon. About six months ago we decided to buy a house together. Prior to this decision my father passed away and left me his house. My girlfriend lived with my in this house rent-free for about nine months. I sold the house and used to proceeds to "gift" her almost $100k for a downpayment on a house. Her credit is better than mine so only her name is on the title.
My question is this: we're currently breaking up and I'm wondering if I can legally request this money back?
We had common interest in purchasing this house together. This has been our primary residence. We currently reside in the home together. I have kept all documentations about the gift. I can also prove that I spent around $20k on maintenance so far and have proof of making mortgage payments.
She has refused to pay me back. Am I entitled to anything or am I out $120k?
