It's the weekend and I'm looking at my portfolio. If I have a stock that isn't performing well but could potentially go up the next business day, and I have Merrill Lynch, can I sell it with a "Stop Quote" setting the Stop price just below current market? And it will only sell if it goes down when the market opens on Monday? But if for some reason it goes up, it won't sell?
Is that a thing? Is that the smartest way in case it jumps 20 points tomorrow?
