I'm currently living with parents. I just turned 30 last week. My girlfriend who lives in MD wants me to move there by years end (I live in NJ). I have no student loans. The only loan I have is my car loan, but I managed to pay off $16K in a year. I owe $10K. I have $20K in savings and $8K invested in stocks. I'm a social worker so my salary will prob be around the same so let's say $44K per year. GF doesn't work she'll be in grad school for the next 2 years.
For the next year, how much should I have saved up before leaving?
