I live frugally, I'm not broke at all but I don't spend on random shit like subscriptions, fancy clothes, or expensive meals. I prefer second hand stuff, and was thinking of not spending any more than $3000 on my first car even though I can comfortably afford a brand new one.

I will also usually look for the best deals. For example, if I were to buy something I want, I would usually look for past sales/prices to get a gauge on how much the item sells for, and I won't pay anything more than the cheapest it has been sold/listed at. Sounds norrmal right?

Not really because my main concern is with overpaying. If I accidentally pay anything more than 25 cents on an item's worth, I will dwell on it for days. Additionally, I recently invested in shares and lost about $3 because of the Omnicron market crash and it's driving me nuts.

Obviously I don't go to lengths like that TV show 'Extreme Cheapskates' where some people literally dig around the rubbish for used toothpaste or reuse bath water to wash the dishes. I also donate about 15% of my monthly pay.

I know this sounds like a joke but it isn't. Does anyone know someone like this? Am I a cheapskate or is there another term for this? How do I break out of this spell? Any advice?
