So I recently paid off 100K+ in student loans and my ~$7k car loan. I'm officially debt free and my only expense at this point is rent (and food, etc). I have no retirement fund (liquidated to put into crypto over a year ago). Currently have about $40k in my bank, so enough savings for a few months in an emergency. I'm now in a position where I have about ~$1k of monthly income that was previously going to loans and I'm not sure what I should really be doing with it. I feel like I have enough money stored away, should I just be focusing on building up a nest egg portfolio?

My workplace doesn't offer 401k/matching (it's employee owned so we just get stock paid out yearly and we're bought out if/when we leave). I still have a large amount invested in crypto that I'm comfortable leaving there for a bit.

Should I just be focusing on using this extra income to build a safe, long term portfolio? I've never had expendable income to use like this so I'm a bit unsure what to do. Thank you!
