As the title states, while in the hospital, my mother told my brother and I that the money in her primary bank account was for us. She gave us her ATM card and passcode and told us to take the money out. She then died two days later prior to us extracting any funds. Obviously, we valued spending time with her over recovering the funds. Now that she’s passed, I have nothing in writing to prove she did this- it was only my brother and I in the room with her. She is not married and we are the sole beneficiaries. However, now I’m concerned that we can’t “prove” she verbally gifted us the money. What do I do & what do I tell the estate lawyer?
