We are looking for a new couch. Willing to spend enough to get something that will last a while (10 years). Current couch had a bad upholstery job that is leaking staples and we've got a mouthy 18 month old one and three pets.
We've been advised to go with leather since stains are plentiful but can be washed off. Due to COVID and the Texas freeze, suppliers are backed up months. I got the message of 34 weeks out for a couch. Fabulous.
My husband thinks he's quite wealthy (he's not) so used is out of the question.
We looked at several options. Showroom model had some scratches but feels nice and comes in the color we want. Scratches. $1290.
New couch with great coloring. $1800, unsure of it's backstockness
New couch with off color and I don't care for the style. Very comfortable. $1400.
Found something that's perfect and available. It's $2400. Warranty of frame is only a year. I want to vomit blood. Have I said we're not wealthy? That's a whole paycheck of mine.
What do we pick? Our current couch has sagging cushions, it's dangerous due to the exposed and drop upholstery staples, and because of our newest life, are being shoved to leather.
