Back at the beginning of the year, I decided to get both Amazon credit cards for the free $150. I never used them past the initial purchase, and I promptly paid them off. Fast forward six-months later, and I notice an e-mail from Synchrony bank regarding an overdue balance on my account. After logging in, I found out that it was from my Audible account subscription. I never added this card to my audible account, but I'm guessing it accessed my Amazon payment options after the card that was on it expired. I called them up and they removed the late fee. I paid the amount on the account, and I told them to close it. Three months later, I notice another email, and it turns out the account has been active the entire time, accruing late fees from my $16 audible sub. It has hurt my credit immensely, and I now owe $149 over $32 worth of fees ($189 before they graciously removed the latest fee). Should I keep trying to fight them over this, or is there another way to undo the harm done to my credit as a result of their negligence?
