Probably because I'm already depressed I'm more sensitive to this.
First things first - overall the majority of posts are totally well suited to the sub. I don't want to call out any posts in particular though yeah when I joined this sub I was looking for tips on purchases, longer-lasting products, how to approach lifelong behaviours/habits when it comes to spending, and DIY (renovations & upcycling). i.e. Building toys at home, cooking ones own bread, making sure to invest in the right utensils. This kinda thing is inspiring and I really admire it. Sometimes this is even 'here's something I cheaped out on and I am paying the price'
Frugal to me means being conscious of value rather than just saving every penny at every possible non-monetary expense. (cheaping out)
'Hey I found this old loaf of only somewhat mouldy bread and a discarded chicken, I have to make this last for a year how do I do it', or ' 'don't have any streaming accounts as they cost money', 'don't invite friends aroundas you have to pay to feed them' 'put some plastic bags over my pipes, that should hold them for another three weeks' - There are small jobs that pay small amounts of money that are sometimes a more viable option when thinking sustainably - essentially at some point using the currency gained from an hour is worth it.
Is there a way to filter those posts or better off that I find alt subreddits? Apologies for my sensitivity and thanks in advance for the advice.
