... and I'm losing my freaking mind!
EDIT: You folks are great! Reading your responses and advice and well wishes has seriously lowered my blood pressure. I feel tons better! I'll send another update Wednesday after we get the keys. Thanks, everyone!
It's Monday night as I write this. I've been asking about the CD since Thursday afternoon. At that time I was told they still had to do the final employment verification and credit pull.
Friday afternoon the title company said they still hadn't received clear-to-close by the lender. (Even though the lender emailed me 11 days ago telling me we're CTC.) I called the lender again and left a message. No call back.
I called the lender again this morning, and so did the real estate agent. I finally got an email from the lender saying that they were working with the title company to determine what time today I would get my CD. I probably checked my email 50 times today. Guess what? No CD.
Even though everyone keeps telling me I'm worried over nothing, I can't stop being afraid that the underwriter is going to pull the plug. My credit card balance went up $1,500 in the last month, increasing the usage ratio from 6% to 23%, and dropping my Experian FICO from 732 to 715. (I know, I know! The inspections were crazy expensive, and I'm hoarding cash because my loan estimates haven't been very trustworthy.)
I'm just scared that the underwriter is going to regret the 3.009% rate we locked in, and kill the deal instead.
So, what do you think, folks? Has this happened to anyone else? Am I just being paranoid? Do I need to be ready to contact the CFPB? Should I just take some valium until we go to closing? My nerves are shot.
