I see people always recommend to put it in the fabric softener compartment but my clothes smells like ass/vinegar if I do that and I remember years ago I read one post on this site that said put it in the detergent compartment so that all of the vinegar gets washed away from the clothes. Just want to confirm if this would be okay and effective to do.
I am buying new clothes all the damn time because I just can't seem to get rid of nasty odors from my clothes. I use an HE washer and I use disinfecting wipes on the door and rubber part then distilled white vinegar with water by itself to clean the washer then do my laundry like normal but I still get nasty odors whether I use scented or unscented detergent it's all the same. Two times I've used vinegar in the fabric compartment and both times I was traumatized by the feet/ass/vinegar odor. I only did it a second time because I forgot about the first time I did it but maybe putting it in the detergent compartment will change things?
Also I thought about using public washing machine places but I know people put nasty stuff in there like fabric diapers or stuff with dog poop and pee on it so I'm hesitant on doing my laundry at these places.
