I recently turned 18, and my parents have been generous enough to allow me to live at home rent-free as long as I need. I currently make $11.50/hour, although employers are desperate to hire where I live so I’m searching for a job that pays significantly higher. I estimate I’ll be making $18/hour by the end of the summer. My plan is to move into an apartment with a roommate and work for a couple years while I figure out the path in life I want to take. I’m starting to budget and plan, but I want to know what expenses I can expect. So far in my planning I’m accounting for rent, utilities, groceries, a cellular plan, WiFi, and gas. I have a good car thats fully paid off. What other regular expenses can I expect as an adult living on my own?
