Back in April, I received a notice from Fidelity saying that, “after recently being notified by an industry reporting service of a public record involving you and your activities. In light of this report we find it necessary to discontinue service to your accounts”. Honestly, I never saw the message until yesterday(6/13) and since I’m not terribly active in that account I didn’t notice any account restrictions it until this week when a similar thing happened at my other broker account, in which I am more active.

The other account was closed this past week at a different broker but for a similarly vague reason. They declined to give me any further explanation, only giving me the option to liquidate all holdings or transfer them to a new broker.

I have no idea what is happening. I ordered a background check which came back clean. I use my accounts for basic trading and hold over 50k in each account. I report and pay my taxes every year.

I’m calling fidelity today to try and figure out what they found but otherwise I am worried whatever is happening will affect my bank accounts or my home loan.

TIA
