I was hospitalized over six months ago because of a prostate condition. My insurance company has not paid the hospital bill. I've called the company. A case worker told me that the payment was approved over five months ago. She could not explain why the bill has not been paid and said she would refer it to her supervisor. Two weeks have passed. Nothing has happened. The hospital sent me a copy of the bill. I scanned and emailed it to the insurance company. There has been no response.
I am now starting to get calls from collection agencies.
I am a high school teacher. Other teachers at my school and throughout the district have had similar issues.
I do not know what to do and would appreciate receiving any constructive advice.
Edit: At this point, the hospital has unpaid medical bills in excess of $22,000.
