Hi all, I'm almost positive this is a scam and have recommended my gf to find another buyer, but I wanted to check if someone has seen this before?
My gf is trying to sell an old bike for like $100. Someone reached out via facebook marketplace asking her to confirm availability of the bike via email (red flag #1). After confirming the bike is available for sale, the buyer responded by email saying she isn't in town and will be sending a cashier's check for $200 in order to purchase the bike. She claims once the check clears the bank she will arrange to pickup the bike. She also asked for fill physical address, fill name, asking price, cell number, etc in order to overnight us the check.
Offering double the price, and asking for all these steps seems too sketchy considering its just a quick sale of an old bike.
