This really really surprised me. I haven't bought a TV before and I'm in my late 20's. I did grow up with a ton of TV and such, but by the 2010's, I was satisfied with my laptop and I was in college.

After holding it off for so long, I bought a TV to play PS4 and to sometimes watch TV when I want to. They are so cheap and powerful. I got a Samsung Smart Series 8 43" 4K TV for about $400 after tax at Best Buy.

When I was setting it up today after work, it showed the apps and such and said something along the lines of "your TV comes with Samsung TV Plus. Free TV, no strings attached". And I was like "yeah right buddy, sure..."

I shit you not I got 100's of channels for free. I guess they are not the well known channels like NBC, FOX, Discovery Channel, etc, but it does have ABC and CBS news, Nickelodeon, free movies, TV Land equivalent, travel shows, music video channels, MTV, and so much more. You can view what channels they have if you google "Samsung TV Plus Channels", I can't post links here.

I couldn't believe it. I was wondering why people would pay for cable. Sure, cable gives you the "real" channels, but meh, most people watch Youtube / Netflix / Hulu these days anyway. No need to buy cable. Also, on the TV guide, my TV will state if something is live or not. So technically this is live TV.

For $400, getting free channels along with a nice 4K TV is really impressive. Samsung is not paying me to make this post, but I'm actually impressed.
