So here's my problem I'm a dual citizen (US/CAD) but I don't even have a US sin number. I was born and live in Canada and have never worked/lived in the US. When ever I make a account with a broker they ask if i'm a US citizen but if you select yes you need to provide a US sin number, so i select no. I don't file US taxes because it is a big pain to do it up here and i don't have any US income. But technically i believe I am supposed to. So I try not to buy US stocks for 2 reasons. 1. I dont want to draw attention to myself for not filing taxes in the US. 2. I'm not sure if any profits would be considered US income.

I'm I being silly or should I just stick to Canadian stocks?
