Long story short, she got scammed and can’t be trusted not to send more money away. She could be homeless next month if I don’t step in. She has agreed to let me take control of her finances, and I just need to stop her from hurting herself anymore.

I have been added onto her account. She is still working. I will be handling the payment of her bills with her money and giving her access to what’s left via a debt card. I know there is her rent, utilities, and a loan consolidation. I plan to freeze her credit. I am now requiring her to communicate with me via email so I have a record.

What else can I do or look out for? I don’t know very much about conservatorship. I don’t have a lawyer and I’m hoping to keep her as independent as I can for as long as I can.
