Sadly my GF of 7 years passed away last Wednesday and she was the only one on the mortgage for the house. I tried to make a payment but because my name is not on it they told me all I could do was make a payment but would not tell me when the payment was due or the amount. At this time no funeral arraignments have been made and I don't know if any legal stuff is happening to figure out what will happen with all her stuff. I am wanting to know what will the lender do if a payment is missed at this time?
As you can imagine I have never had to deal with something like so my understanding of how all this works is very limited.
Update: I just talked with her sister-in law and she told me at some point her brother and her dad would like to get me involved in talks to figure things out so I think that is a good sign.
