My brother is the general manager at a large chain sandwich shop. One of the "perks" of being a GM is that he gets paid salary.. but the way they define salary is he gets paid hourly until 50 hours and as long as he works more than 50 hours, he gets his salary.. however his salary is the equivalent of 50 hours of hourly pay.

So if he works less than 50 hours, he only gets paid for the hours he worked. If he works over 50 hours, he gets paid for 50 hours. How does that make sense?
