I'm currently looking for a mattress, and I'm not quite sure which direction to go. My sleep has been horrendous for about a year now, and I'd like something that can hopefully help with that. Ideally, I'd like for it to not require a second mortgage, since I have other big purchases to make now too.

Tuft and Needle ($550), Casper Select ($500 at Costco), and Zinus's green tea mattress ($300 on Amazon) seem to be promising options. However, I'm not sure if the first two are worth the price premium over the Zinus, nor am I sure if I need to go even higher priced than all three of these for a good sleep. I have a few friends that swear by the Zinus, but they haven't used it for very long (nor have they tried any of the higher priced options). I tend to be very cold, so I huddle on my side, but I'd like to get back to sleeping on my back more.

For anyone that has experience with these mattresses:

  • Will these hold up to years of sleep and movement, or will they feel like quicksand and easily get deformed?
  • Are there any notable differences between these, or is it best to just go for the cheapest option?
  • Will I gain anything by going with an even pricier option?
  • Do you have any other mattresses that I should consider?
