So I’m a full time college student working full time at a fast food chain and I am without a car. I am currently saving up for a car so most of my money goes to that, rent, bills and my college fees. I get called into work a lot on my days off so I end up working overtime. Most of the times I get off at midnight and wash my clothes in my sink and hang them to dry for the next day, but sometimes I get home very tired and just rewear them and they’ll have a couple of little skiff marks but I don’t care too much since I am going to work. (They’re not dirty they’re just a couple things here and there.) Anyways, I’m in a groupchat and someone told me they saw me walking home from work, and in front of the whole groupchat mentioned that “not to embarrass you but if you ever need a place to wash, you can do it here, no one should be walking from home or going to work like that” and... i’m so embarrassed i just want to crawl into a hole and die. I feel like those things are better said privately, but I guess they meant the best. To top it off my crush was in that groupchat and a lot of my other friends. I wish they understood how hard it was for me to do my own laundry, since the nearest laundromat is even farther than my work which is a good 2 miles away and I already have to walk to and back and I get very tired. does anyone have any solutions to this? I can’t really do more than one uniform at a time in my sink, and drying takes ages since my apartment has no porch or front or anything, so I dry them indoors where the sunlight hits the most. Also said friend doesn’t know I’m without a car. So doing it over at their place is not really an option for me.
