Now I realize that there are a lot worse off people here, I've read many of them and they seem to have more hope than I do. I just can't ever seem to get out of this recurring situation. Here's what's going on:

I have a credit card cumulative limit of about 21k. Currently I'm just a shade under 19k of that. I had a lease on a truck for $830(!) that I just traded in last month for a car that is $506. My gas consumption will go considerably lower as well, about 1/4 of what I was paying. I'm trying to buy the house I live in now by February, thankfully I know the owner (family friend) and he is going to use all the rent payments towards the purchase price ($241k), so that's a plus.

Here's a monthly breakdown of my bills:

Gas: $130-150 Food: $400-500 Car payments: $781 (hers and mine) Insurance: $230 Cell phone: $204 Electric: $70-80 Other utilities/stream services: $60 Credit cards: $450 (minimums) Rent: $1500

At this point, I feel like I'm living paycheck to paycheck. I work at a car dealership in sales, which I know can fluctuate but I've had a consistent yearly income (combined) of about $85k. Wife makes $8/hour as an intern at a hair salon, and passes her boards next month to get her cosmetology license. She should be making more once that gets done. I have a potential promotion in the relatively near future (within 6 months likely) to move back up to a finance position where my income would go to a minimum of $7k a month, and often above that. I feel like once I get there, I'm good, but until that time hits, I'm underwater. Any input/suggestions here would be greatly appreciated!
