Anyone done the math on replacing a subzero with another subzero vs a lower tier brand? The current Sub zero lasted about 20 years (a 550 model, 36"). I'm looking at a GE for about $2k. Seems to me if the GE lasts 10 years, then I still come ahead vs a new subzero that lasts 20 years. I know to get a simple model without water/ice dispenser on the door as those have less problems.

Also, does anyone know if places like home depot will haul away the sub zero? I don't think they would, so I'm wondering how to get rid of it. I'm guessing freecycle or craigslist should take it. It's working but has a few issues that maybe someone handy would be able to fix.
