So my house had two junction boxes covered with a flat plastic cap to protect the wires. I hooked up a light in the one which had all the wires needed for a light. However the second one right inside the door only contained a single red wire with no ends. I still have one light switch I haven’t figured out what it’s for and I assume it’s this junction box with a wire that is over my knowledge and my dad was also confused.The switch doesn’t control any of the outlets in the room.
