Hey all. I have been receiving countless calls from a collections agency (peerless credit) about a bill from last year. Its 900$. I had already settled this with the hospital before I moved away, and they had given me 100% discount, so I still don’t understand why I owe that amount.

Today I was called again by the collections agency and I asked for everything to be done via mail, that I did not want any phone contact. The man said that he had already sent letters and would not send another letter, and said he would tell the hospital I was refusing to cooperate and I would get in legal trouble. I moved out of the US (from PA to Puerto Rico) and mail sometimes gets lost. I told him again “I want everything to be done by mail, not by phone calls” and he said I was being rude and hung up.

I don’t know what to do since I was already told by the hospital I didn’t owe them anything due to the 100% discount, and now they refuse to deal with this through mail.

Any advice?
