The dude was a martial arts instructor, probably made ~25k a year, no more than 30k. This was in Australia.
He always had nice things - clothes, bike, workout gear, etc. Him and his partner ate quality food at home and went out for a meal once or twice a month. He lived fairly well.
I asked him how he did it, he said...
"Two things. I don't drink and I don't have a car."
