I just signed the lease for my first apartment post-college! This will be the first time I pay monthly rent. My new landlord included his bank account number as an option for me to do direct deposit for my rent. He's already explained this, but I'm still a bit confused.
When I go to his bank and tell the teller what I'm there for, do you think I'll be able to deposit the rent using my debit card? My bank is in another city about an hour away from where I live. I'd rather not have to go to an ATM and withdraw the money to take to his bank. Shouldn't I be able to fill out the deposit slip, then swipe my card to complete the transaction?
