Hello r/DIY! My husband and I are considering moving to a new rental and the place we’re looking at has a 4ft high wire chain fence in the backyard. We have two large dogs and the home is less than a quarter mile from a busy street, so we would prefer a fence that’s a bit higher. Neither of our dogs are big jumpers, but it’s just not a risk we’re willing to make.Granted we would obtain permission from the landlord, what would be the most cost effective way to add ~2ft of height to the fence? It wouldn’t necessarily need to be the sturdiest of fencing- the dogs aren’t left out unsupervised, but if a rogue squirrel darts past the fence I’d prefer they not think they can easily clear the fence.We’re already considering adding chicken wire to the bottom to form dig guards, so would there be a way to add something similar to the top of the fence?I’m eager to hear your thoughts!PS- I tried searching the sub for similar posts in the past and couldn’t find anything, so I apologize if it’s been asked before. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/3g8z4K5
