I've been researching and for a person who is moving out for the first time a room in an apartment/house seems like a good idea. It's way cheaper than getting a whole apartment to myself and it's less to do. But the safety side of it is concerning. How would i stay safe in a shared apartment/house situation? I likely won't know the person I move in with other than a few time meeting to arrange it. Locking down my room in some sort of way? Any tips,tricks,ideas?
