This is not a request post but the bot thinks it is so im forced to put [Request] in the title.
I have a tupperware brand BPA free bottle that is similar to this one here : https://www.amazon.com/Tupperware-Sports-Water-Bottle-Flip/dp/B019XLSSIC
And for the last few days, water in the bottle has developed a strange taste after a few hours in it.
I rinse the bottle multiple times a day, and i tried washing it multiple times with dishwashing liquid, but then the bottle started smelling of dishwashing liquid even though I rinsed it out 5+ times afterwards. Water in the bottle still started tasting funny after a few hours in it.
I tried leaving freshly boiled hot water in the bottle for about an hour to kill any bacteria/etc, emptied it out and rinsed it 5+ times again...the dishwashing liquid smell was gone, but water in the bottle still went started tasting funny after a few hours in it.
I then tried hot water + a generous amount of salt to see if it would help, and have let the bottle air dry for a few hours now, but the bottle has this strange smell coming out of it...it smells somewhat salty (due to the salt) and theres another smell there that I cannot place. But it smells weird.
The inside of the bottle looks completely clean, no marks or anything.
Is a BPA free plastic water bottle supposed to retain odours for long or something?
P.S. Do not have vinegar/bleach/baking soda/etc.
Edit : So now the bottle has been air drying for more than 24 hours and it STILL smells weird. Not sure how to describe it but its like some musky, salty smell.
