I wanted to share this game I came up with (I’m probably not the first) that makes saving effective and also really fun.
Every time I am about to make a fast purchase online, especially for something over $50, I stop and see if I can do one of the following:
- Find the same item at a cheaper price
- Find a less expensive but similar item
- Find an alternative solution that negates the need for the purchase at all
I then take the difference between the full priced option and the cost of my new option and immediately move the difference into savings.
