My friend went to a therapist for grief counseling in Jan Feb. The therapist at the time told him that he would have to pay a co pay of $20. In September, the therapist said he called the insurance and he is out of network. He left a voicemail saying he will charge him $100 per session due to the confusion instead of $250 and is asking for $1600. There are no bills that have been sent yet. What would be the best course of action for my friend to do here? I realize he should have confirmed whether the therapist was in network earlier
