My (23F) mother (61F) may only have a year left due to stage IV cancer. Right now I live with her rent free as I’m paying off student loans. I have no idea how to approach this. She still owes on her house. I know she took out a home equity loan. She is the primary owner of my car which isn’t paid off yet. She has credit card debt. She has some savings and a retirement. She’s not married. It’s just me and my 3 other siblings. I’m not sure if I’ll keep her house when she passes. I just want to make the financials of everything as easy as possible for her and us kids so we can focus on my mom and her treatment.
