My mind is a little everywhere right now, so I'll try and make this brief.
My husband's birthday is tomorrow. We decided not to do, or get, anything for birthdays this year since money's tighter than usual. I don't mind (birthday was 2 months ago, nice day but nothing special) but he's a little more sentimental.
I had planned a home-cooked dinner and dessert, make the day a little better than normal, you know
Yesterday we got mugged at a bus stop and all our cash and cards are gone. We already filed the police report, yada yada, but I don't want his birthday to be filled with trips to the bank, DMV, etc.
I've got some spare change a grocery store a mile away.
I need some big ideas to make his day special and take his mind off of real life for a few hours at least
