Hey all, looking for some advice.I recently had a pretty major water damage incident in my house. Long story short, my entire kitchen is about to be gutted down to studs and joists. Homeowners insurance is going to payout, but I'm still likely going to have to try to be frugal. So I had this crazy idea...We had wanted to put tile down in the kitchen for some time. The current hardwood will come up obviously, I'm just wondering how difficult it would be to repurpose the wood into a butchers block countertop?I've got a table saw, jointer, planer, tons of glue and bar clamps, so the tools aren't really lacking. My concern is getting the floor up relatively intact, and dealing with any nails/staples in the wood prior to running it through my planer.Does anyone have any experience removing hardwood floors? How much of a pain in the ass is it?Thanks! via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2xjcXfD
