An outlet in my kitchen said that the hot and neutral wires were reversed with a tester. The black and wires are hooked up in the correct place (black = hot & white = neutral). The multimeter says there is power coming from the white wire (which I find strange), but I flip the wires anyways and the tester says everything is hooked up correctly but when I plug something in nothing works. I should mention the outlet giving power to that outlet doesn't work at all (the multimeter reads now power from that at all).
