Hi DIY, first-time poster here. I have a very heavy 50" TV that I needed a stand for. Not having much of a budget, I repurposed a 28" high desk to place the TV atop of. (The TV is about two inches wider than the desk itself length-wise.) My problem is that the center stand of the TV rests right above where a drawer starts, with a bunch of empty space underneath. See picture to see what I mean. It worked fine at first, but I'm starting to see some gaps/bowing beneath the main tabletop/in the drawer area.Any ideas on how to reinforce this desk so that it doesn't collapse? I'm a broke grad student, so any relatively inexpensive ideas are appreciated. Could I just stick a couple 2x4's under there, or should I build something more substantial? I have a hammer, hacksaw, and access to a Lowe's, among other supplies.Thank you very much! :D via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2F8K3CZ
