I guess the title pretty much says it all.I'm in the process of spray painting some plywood that will used for a coffee table. I've been sanding and painting a bunch to get rid of the texture from the plywood. I'm about to put on the last coat of paint and then put on varnish before the plywood is cut and assembled. In the beginning I was having some issues with tiger striping (similar to this I guess). I followed his tips from that video and seem to be getting a better coat, although maybe a bit on the thick side.I realize spray painting with cans is not ideal, but to me it seems I either get tiger striping, or a I get build up. Neither are good. But given the choice I'd opt for the "too much build up" route and get an even coat, although maybe a bit "bumpy".So this is what I've been doing, but I still see some areas that get a bit matted out.I guess my question is: Can I sand with a really fine sandpaper, 600 or so, to get rid of the bumpiness + matteness of some areas before putting on varnish, or will I just mess it up even worse? via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2vUOs7E
