I haven’t been able to find any good explanations online so I’m hoping someone here can be a good help.
I currently have about $50k in a Wealthfront account which has been doing fairly well since I started investing it a few years ago. Because I am pretty young, I have been using the highest risk setting on Wealthfront (10.0).
My breakdown of investments in Wealthfront is:
28% Emerging Markets: IEMG, VWO 5% Dividend Growth Stock: SCHD, VIG 22% Foreign Stocks: SCHF, VEA 5% Natural Resources: VDE, XLE 5% Municipal Bonds: VTEB 35% US Stocks: SCHB, VTI
I’ve been reading a lot about VTSAX and similar investments and I’m starting to wonder if I’m investing my money the right way.
What are some of the pros and cons for each type of investment? (Wealthfront and other robo advisors vs VTSAX)
Would you recommend moving the money from Wealthfront to all VTSAX or a mix of VTSAX and something else?
