Hello there!
I am looking into buying two different pairs of boots. I would like a work boot and a casual/everyday outing boot. Currently I wear a pair of $90 C.E. Schmidt boots from Tractor Supply Co.
I am undecided if I should go with Danner or Red Wing boots (or one from each). Here is what I need from each boot...
Work boot: I work in lawn care and gardening. I am frequently in chemical-treated and damp grass, so waterproofing is basically required. I frequently walk on grass, mulch, dirt, gravel, sand, pavement, brick... Almost anything you can think of, I walk on it.
Casual boot: I will most likely be wearing this boot with blue jeans and a random shirt. I want a boot that is okay for almost any casual occasion. Basically, if I can wear blue jeans to said occasion, I want to be able to wear these boots too. I will wear these indoors and outdoors on a multitude of surfaces. Like I said, these will be an everyday boot. I have separate shoes for fancy occasions and exercising. I will also want to wear these boots even when it is raining.
My budget is $1,000 to get both pairs of boots.
Thanks!
TL;DR:
Work:
- Waterproof
- Safe to walk on almost any surface (wet or dry)
- Safe to walk on chemical-treated grass
Casual/Everyday:
- Acceptable for almost any occasion
- Worn with blue jeans
- Indoors and outdoors
- Multitude of surfaces
- Wet and dry weather
EDIT: I know I listed out all of my requirements for each boot, but I am simply wanting to know which brand is more BIFL. If you want to recommend specific models I am all ears, however you do not have to. Thanks again!
