I moved from a western European country to Singapore about a year ago and so far I have been finding it to require a much bigger investment of time and money to get hookups here.
I wouldn't say that I am attractive but not unattractive either, just average looking but still back home I would be able to go on at least 1 or 2 dates per week through Tinder. After a few weeks of futile swiping here I actually uninstalled the app, seems like there are a lot of fake users and/or escorts on Tinder here. I think I was able to go on one date through it but it didn't lead anywhere.
After this I started trying clubs instead now this is also something I found to be a lot more pricey than back home, cover charges range from around $40-70 and table reservations come with a min spend requirement of around 3k. The drinks are not cheap and it seems that the girls here are very much expecting the guy to pay for drinks. On top of all the drinks almost all girls here live at home and I am sharing a flat with 2 others so I will have to pay for a hotel room as well. All in all on a "successful" night I have easily spent anywhere between 300 to 500+.
I really am at a loss as to what to do, I simply cannot afford to maintain such a lifestyle which has lead to me eschewing dating altogether. But being used to dating it is making me quite miserable to be honest.
