Wasn't sure whether to post here or in woodworking. Went with here because woodworking just has too many beautiful posts to taint with my post.I bought new drill bits after one got stuck in a stud. These drill bits are great, they work. They don't get stuck. But I've still got a problem: I can't drill screws into the pilot holes I make. It's possible the pilot holes I made weren't straight as I couldn't check this as I was drilling, but is there any other possibility for why I'm not able to get my screws into the wood? Should I be using a special bit to drill it in? Should I use an impact driver? Thanks.edit: I’m too ashamed to respond directly to everyone, so will just put my realization here: the screws were going in only up to a certain point, then for the life of me they just would not go in anymore. In other words, my drill bit was making too short a pilot hole. It was the right width, just not the right length. I will now eat dinner while feeling stupid all by myself. Thanks. via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2MddVnU
