Bit of a back story. I found this old Hoover Encore (which I guess is just a more rare Hoover Convertible) direct air vacuum sitting in the basement of my sister-in-law's house a few weeks ago, they told me it was in there since they bought the house a few years ago and never used it. I took it home with me, turned it on, motor and everything worked just fine. Just had to order a new belt and bag for it, cleaned it with an air compressor and some brushes and all purpose cleaner and wiped it down and it's like new again.

Unfortunately the original name plate sticker is missing on the bottom of the unit, but from my research I've done looking into this, it was made somewhere between the late 80's and early 90's where I've seen identical models (about 1988 - 1992 ish) although this similar design has been made by Hoover since the early 70's.

I just can't believe it how well this thing cleans my carpets! Seriously, if you can believe it, it cleans better and leaves my carpet feeling softer even than any other bagless vacuum I've used before. Before this I would vacuum twice a week with a Panasonic bagless vacuum that I bought about 6 years ago, while it still works it's just not the same as it was new. This machine is as old as I am and it cleans 10 times better!

Just check out these awesome vacuum lines! https://youtu.be/fC6a095_X18

Just wondering, does anyone else on here appreciate older well built vintage machines like this? I feel like everything made today is just engineered to fail and be disposable. Anyone else have a vacuum like this?
