I've been playing the CC signup bonus game for a while and ever since getting divorced have added my daughter as an AU on cards that offered extra points for doing so. In addition to the points, her having a card on her was a great way to teach her about responsible use of credit as well as me having peace of mind that she wouldn't starve if I was running late from work and needed her to pick something up. She was 15 or 16 when I added her to the first card.
Fast forward to today. She's 21, moved across the country for school and while opening a checking account in her new location discovered she's got a credit score of 793.
I had read that as an AU people would start/add to their credit history, I had no idea the impact would be this big/good.
