Hey reddit users. This is my first time posting, but I’m seeking some advice for my financial future. I’m currently 20 years old living at home making around $1800 a month with $900-1000 in monthly bills. I have lived and have been raised in a relatively poor single parent home basically my whole life and was wondering what I can do to expand my money. My savings account is a little over 3k (in just 5 months after being completely broke back in December of 2018). I am very hesitant to go back to school because of the debt I’ll acquire, and on top of that I’ll be paying out of my own pocket. I have no idea what I want to do with my life other than dreams of becoming self employed/financially independent, so college right now seems to be out of the question. My credit score is roughly around 700-715 and over the last 3 years I’ve only had 1 credit card with a limit of $250. I have no debt other than the monthly bills previously talked about (car payment and phone bill will be paid off by the end of the year) and I have a few medical bills (less than $1k). I know my first couple steps will be to pay off my debts and continue to save. Other than that I am completely lost with nobody in my life to go to for financial help. So if anyone has any tips and/or can offer me some guidance it will be greatly appreciated! Thank you and have a nice day.
