I wanted to start off by saying I am extremely grateful for what my parents have done for me. My sister is 6 years older than me and a home owner. When she bought her condo they gave her $10k for the purpose of buying a home. I just received my 10k (for a home) but am not the littlest bit interested in buying right now. I have a little bit of credit card debt from traveling and some owed to a line of credit, let’s say about 6K. Do I use this gift to clear my debts, even though it’s purpose of for a first home?
