I'm going to replace my basement windows this year. Currently the ones I've got are wood, single-pane, that swing open from the bottom (hinged on top). They're horribly inefficient, but one thing that's great about them is they swing completely clear of the window opening, which is great for bringing down long itmes like lumber and pipe, and they vent well. All the replacement windows I find either slide open halfway, or crank open a few inches at the top to vent. In my search, I've found one picture of a solution that is just about perfect: http://bit.ly/2UuKoJU A reverse-image search only produces a bunch of garbage repost sites. Is it possible this setup exists as a product somewhere? It's not totally out of my skillset to build, but not my forte either. Any ideas? Anyone know of plans for such, or have seen this before? Should I consider hiring for it, and should I be looking for a carpenter, or a glazier? Think this would be expensive? via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2UvIite
