I work for a smallish nationwide airline. Under 300 pilots. I've' been with the company for 2 years and live in Washington State. We have a 3 person HR department, 1 person is a full time recruiter so technically 2 person HR department. The company requires us to use our social as our employee number and we have to use it at places like sign in sheets at hotels we stay at. I got the company to let me use a different number from my social when I joined but it took a lot of convincing. They have only allowed a few of us to do so after complaints were made.

Our HR director is an utter and complete idiot. He repeated has willingly given out my social security number to people who should not be authorized to have it. These are people outside of the company. Its now happened for the 4th time that I am aware of. I have complained about it a number of times and he does nothing about it. I have now received paperwork that is public from an outside organization from the company showing pretty much everything from my social security number, my home address, phone number, etc. I am not aware of other employees that this has happened to other than the social as their employee number.

My credit reports are already frozen so no one should be able to access my credit report but someone could easily get access to this info on the Internet and then use it for other Identity theft.

Is there anything I can do? I am already involved in litigation with the company over wage issues through my state labor and industries. This time it seems to be published out of spite for bringing suit against the company. They know the worst that will happen is a small fine.
