Hey everyone, I'm looking to install French drains on either side of my house to help with standing water and overall poor drainage. These drains will run out onto the street. I am also planning on putting gutters on the front and back of my house and originally planned to run them and connect them to the French drains. I've been reading that running the two pipes together is a horrible idea and just asking for trouble. My question is, if the French drains are going to be run to the street, is it really that bad to run the downspout to the French drains? Also, if I don't run them together, can I run it close to the drains to allow the drains to capture some of the water and help disperse it?The location is outside Augusta, GA and I've already spoken to the county about any permits needed. Thanks!PS, anyone have any suggestion on if its possible to cut a section of curb out using a angle grinder and a masonry bit? via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2GtgoFL
